Start this method by purchasing a patch kit from an outdoor store. You need to purchase a patch kit that works on both plastic and vinyl because most of the air mattresses are made from these two materials.

Deflate the Mattress

Now deflate your air mattress completely. Let all the air out from your mattress and stop the entering pathway of air before continuing the following steps.

Sand Away

You also need to remove the soft covering of your mattress for making the patch stick. You can do it easily with the help of some sandpaper or a wire brush. Then start to remove the felt coating until the process finished.

Clean the Dust and Microbes

After finishing the cleaning, make sure that you will dry it completely before continuing the next steps.

Cut Out a Patch

You need to be careful when cutting out a patch of your air mattress. You need to cut a patch around one and a half times larger than the hole that will help you to fit the patch quite comfortably into the hole.

Apply the Patch

Now all are set for applying the patch. It is ideal to follow the manufacturer’s directions for applying the patch. You can use special glue to attach the patch. Always be careful when you attach it.

Press Down on the Patch

To attach the patch firmly you need to apply pressure on it. You can use a rolling pin or the heel of your hand to press on the patch of air mattress more smoothly.

Let the Glue Dry

Now you need to wait with patience until the glue of the patch dries properly. During this time, keep a heavy flat object on top of the patch to keep the pressure continuing on your air mattress, and also don’t try to inflate. It will take normally 2-3 hours for drying properly.

Inflate the Mattress and Check
