I’ve tried out so many different kinds of mattresses and most of the time, I feel underwhelmed. Regardless of how many technological features the company uses, I rarely find one that I feel 100% confident in recommending.
Well, this Layla mattress seems to tick all the boxes, and then take it a step further too!
However, that may not necessarily mean it’s the best choice for you. Therefore, we’ve assembled a review of the Layla company and their copper-infused mattress. We want to give you all the information you need to go and make the best decision for yourself about this mattress.
About Layla Mattress Company
Layla is a company who has a passion for helping people sleep. They understand the importance of great sleep and how being deprived of it can have colossal effects on your everyday life. Layla is so in-tune with the fact that most of us don’t even realize how bad we’re sleeping.
As result, they’ve constructed a superb mattress. And when people use it, they finally notice how bad their sleep was before. As a result, customers are loving the mattresses and it’s inspiring the brand even more to create high-quality sleeping items.
Layla Mattress Review
Layla’s copper-infused memory foam mattress comes in a variety of sizes to suit most people’s needs. This includes twin, twin xl, full, queen, king, and California king mattress. We’re going to dive into more of the details this mattress has to offer in this section.
This Layla mattress combines a total of four layers to provide you with ultimate firmness and comfort. As a result, you get an incredible 10.5” of high-grade materials to sleep on. The different materials used to form these layers include the following:
- 3” copper-infused memory foam (medium-firm comfort layer)
- 2” convoluted support foam
- 5” base support foam
- 1” copper infused memory foam (firm comfort layer)
The copper materials used in this mattress really stood out to us. It’s a unique approach to sleeping cool, but how well does it work?
Layla’s Fabrics
Since copper is among one of the top conductors available, it is commonly used in machinery and advanced tech to prevent the temperatures from rising too high. So, the company figured, why not use it in mattresses to provide these cooling effects to the human body?
When you lay on the mattress, the cells of the copper materials become compressed. This means they can soak in the heat your body gives off, which ensures you remain cool while sleeping.
Copper is also extremely supportive. When it takes your body weight, the layers of fabrics form a connection via the copper cells. This results in the mattress feeling firm and supportive as it prevents any areas from depressing.
Therefore, you don’t have to worry about the sinking feeling that’s commonly associated with regular memory foam mattresses.
One of the other benefits that convinced this company to use copper was its incredible antimicrobial effects. This means the mattress is resistant to mold, bacteria, fungi, and even viruses. The copper cells bond together and put up a wall against any bacteria from making its way inside.
To take the cooling effects to the next level, Layal has also implemented a thermogel-infused cover. The thermogel material is highly responsive to the temperature of your body and works to prevent you from becoming too hot as you sleep.
This cooling cover, combined with the copper materials within the mattress, meaning you’re essentially sandwiched between two layers of cooling fabrics. You can say goodbye to uncomfortable and hot sleeping experiences!
“Flippable” Firmness
One of the many problems that sleepers experience is finding the right firmness for them. The problem is, some nights you feel like you need a very firm mattress. Whereas others, you may be craving a slightly softer feel.
Well, Layla seemed to have thought of everything!
They have, what they call, a “flippable” mattress feature. One side of the mattress is firm, and the other has more of a medium-soft feel. So, whatever kind of mattress you want to sleep on, you can simply flip it.
Use A Layla Mattress on Any Foundation
Layla has designed their mattresses to be fantastic for fitting onto any kind of foundation. A standard solid base is most people’s first choice, and you can be assured the mattress will conform to it very well.
However, we were more surprised about how well it’s able to fit with other foundations too.
Using the mattress with a box spring or slatted foundation works effectively to increase the airflow the best. You can even fit the Layla mattress onto a Bunkie board, but the airflow will be lower in this case.
120-Night Free Trial
Layla is so confident in their mattress that they offer a 120-night free trial period. That’s four months!
This gives you a real chance to discover whether the Layla mattress is for you or not. If not, you can return it and receive a complete refund, within the 120 days.
You won’t be hit with any return fees as the mattress doesn’t get sent back to Layla. Instead, they simply pick the mattress up and donate it to a charity.
The Pros and Cons of Layla’s Mattresses
Despite how great Layla’s copper-infused mattress is, there are still some downsides. We believe it’s only fair to give you the full picture to help you make the best decision about this mattress for yourself. And that means providing you with both the pros and cons.
We found one of the biggest upsides to this mattress is the copper material. It uses advanced cooling tech that, combined with the thermogel cover, keeps you cool, no matter how hot it is. Having your body temperature regulated like this as you sleep is a huge advantage.
The thick 10.5” of copper and memory foam materials, as well as the “flippable” feature, takes this mattress to new heights. You get the best of the extra firm side for ultra-support and medium firmness on the other side for a mixture of support and softness.
There are, however, a few flaws to the Layla mattress. One of them is that some customers don’t feel satisfied with the “flippable” feature. The softer side may feel too soft and the firmer side may feel too firm. So, some struggle to find comfort in that middle ground, which may be a problem for you.
One of the other issues we came across was that it doesn’t work so well to minimise pressure points. Often times when we wake up with odd pains, typically on the neck, shoulders, back, or hips, it’s because of the way we’ve slept.
The Layal mattress doesn’t seem to be effective enough at relieving these pressure points for some people.
What Type of Mattress is Layla?
This Layla item is a copper-infused memory foam mattress. It combines a highly responsive thermogel cooling cover and copper fabrics to keep you cool and ensure enough air is being circulated as you sleep.
This is the type of mattress you need if you find your sleep is disturbed due to feeling overheated.
Do you often toss and turn and try to find the cold side of the bed?
If so, the cooling tech built-in to this mattress would help to improve your sleep tremendously.
How Much is a Layla Mattress?
The price of Layla mattresses can vary wildly depending on the size you go for. The most affordable one is the twin size. However, California is the most expensive one and is more than double the price.
So, the price you pay comes down to the size you need. The twin and twin xl are the best value for money. In fact, the prices are very intriguing when you consider the sheer amount of benefits this mattress has to offer you.
There are plenty of other twin/twin XLmattresses that are more expensive, yet lower in quality than this one.
You’ll find the costs begin to rise consecutively with full, queen, king, and finally the California size.
Is the Layla Bed Right for You and Your Sleeping Position?
Undoubtedly, one of the biggest issues we see among customers who aren’t happy with their mattresses is that it simply doesn’t conform to their sleeping positions.
The responsiveness of the firm materials is what’s called variable support. This essentially means that, in any position you lay in, the layla bed will work to ensure it can support you.
Side sleepers, in particular, have trouble finding a mattress that lets them sleep comfortably on their side, without any pain or discomfort. Well, the variable response feature of this mattress makes it extremely supportive for all kinds of sleeping positions – Whether it beside, front, or back sleepers. Check it out on Amazon
Conclusion
Now that you know more about the Layla brand and the benefits this mattress can provide, you’re in a much better position to make the correct choice for you.
Hopefully, we’ve helped to make that decision process easier.

Key Layla Mattress Information:
- Flippable Firmness: The Layla Memory Foam Mattress is firm on one side and soft on the other, so you have two chances to find the right feel for you. If your firmness preferences change over time or if you’re sleeping with a partner who wants a different feel, just flip the mattress to the other side and see if that suits you. Layla was one of the first makers of a flippable copper infused memory foam mattress, so we’ve had years of experience and time to perfect this technology.
- Copper Cools: The copper cooling technology in our mattresses incorporates gel encapsulated copper particles mixed into the memory foam. When you lay down on a Layla copper infused mattress, the tiny copper-gel particles condense together forming a thermal superhighway to transfer heat through the condensed particles so it can be pulled away from your body. With this efficient and effective heat transfer technology, we prevent a build up of excessive heat under your body which makes you cooler.
- Copper Supports: Those copper-gel particles in the memory foam do a lot more than just keep you sleeping super cool, they adapt to your body weight to support you in all the right places. When the copper gel particles in the mattress condense under body weight, they react with a firming response. The more weight that presses down, the more the copper particles push back. So you get more support where your body pushes into the mattress and more give where your body does not.
- High Quality Foam & Fabric: Any mattress manufacturer will tell you that copper infused memory foam is a more costly component than traditional memory foam. Why does Layla use this high end foam and not jack up the price? Because at Layla we put value and pride before profits. We set out to do something better for sleepers, to build something we can be proud of and feel confident recommending to our own friends and family.
- Made in The USA: Every single Layla Memory Foam Mattress is crafted right here in the United States by a US workforce. It’s important to us to support the US economy as much as possible, but there are other benefits to being made in America. Our mattresses are made to order, when you place your order, we begin crafting the mattress that will land in your home. Why is this better? Memory foam can degrade over time when it’s compressed and boxed for shipment which can lead to poor performance.
