The natural fibers, more appropriate as far as hygiene is concerned, increase the price of the futon a lot. With use, the futon fibers lose their usual sponginess and become flatter and harder. Coupled with the fact that we are sleeping on the floor, this can cause back problems, or aggravate them if they already existed. There are options that have latex to alleviate this effect, but, again, this will increase the cost when taking the futon home.

Less hygiene:

The floor is one of the dirtiest places in the home where insects, spiders, etc. settle. The use of a conventional mattress means that there is insulation between the surface of the ground and our body. This isolates insects, spores, animal hairs, allergens, etc. If you have a carpeted floor, the reception of dust is greater. On the other hand, if your floor is made of wood or ceramic, the possibility of keeping it clean and free of allergens is much greater. You should also take into account that you need to ventilate the room every day to avoid the entry of dust and mites.

It is difficult to sleep as a couple:

life as a couple can be compromised since sleeping on the floor means sleeping apart. Those who prefer to sleep on the floor have difficulty sleeping with another person, as it is very uncomfortable.

It is not suitable for the elderly or people with certain pathologies:
